One Mastiff to Rule Them All

How can you tell that your dog will win Best of Breed?
When he is the only specimen of his breed in the ring.

As of the time of printing the Judging Schedule there was only one Neapolitan Mastiff entered at this year’s show:

Ring Three
Judge:   Mrs.  Robert D. Smith
8:00 AM  STEWARDS:  Mrs. Susan Sprung; Mr. Randy Garren

1  - Neapolitan Mastiffs  (1-0)
13 - Tibetan Mastiffs  (7-6)
16 - Boxers  (6-10)

I suppose when you look like this, you can use all the help you can get.  But let there be no doubt - these big boned beauties had me at dogs of war used by the Roman army.

I know in the past that I have made some disparaging remarks about the Mastini, but this just proves the point: there ain’t no such thing as an ugly puppy.

Or is it the exception that proves the rule?
In case you're keeping track of these things, there is only one English Toy Spaniel and one American Water Spaniel entered in their respective judging rings as well.  The Neapolitan Mastiff is just so much fun to look at.
