You're Motorin'
The beauty of being the family taxi driver is that every once in a while during your 6 minute trek from drop-off or to pick-up while you're all alone jammin' to the oldies, you hit upon one that makes you laugh as intensely as you need to sing it. This is quite a skill and not to be attempted unless you are wicked old such as myself.
This afternoon, my oldies gift to you is "Sister Christian" by Night Ranger.
Did anyone else have this album? I seriously think mine was an 8-track (I warned you about the wicked old) and there was some part of a scene from Poltergeist at the beginning or end of it. Weird.

My sister's boyfriend at the time just recently got in touch with me on Facebook, and we were reminiscing about the concert. It occurred to me that I probably owed Marc about 3 summers worth of gas money; he toodled our gang all around NJ and never asked for a cent. Funny what occurs to you as a grownup that you never think about as a kid.
Thanks for the blast from the past, Lynne!
Send the guy a gas card - who knows - he might appreciate it more now than he would have then.
See original Survivor video here!
I got hooked on them in the summer of 1982, when "Eye of the Tiger" was #1 for six weeks. My friend had just gotten MTV and we lived in front of the television all summer.
Remember the video for "The Search is Over"? Back before you had ever experienced real love, and you thought maybe, just maybe, it would happen like that.
Here it is. I did love it so. Oddly, I had no recollection of the video.
OK.
But seriously, what's your price for flight?
BTW - any time this song comes on, I must sing it at the top of my lungs, along with full on air drumming. It has perfect rock ballad drum riffs.
I'm not sure I've heard this song since the 80s - but I must have. Maybe I just didn't have a sing-along opportunity at the time, although I can hardly imagine such a case.
Sadly, of all those I saw only the Bangles, much, much later than their heyday at Great Woods in Massachusetts (an outdoor stadium in the woods). We were deprived of a Great Adventure here.
Yes, I went to the wonderfully carpeted WWPHS - the high school WITHOUT WINDOWS! OR WALLS between classrooms. I think that was some progressive gimmick that was supposed to get kids to learn more. I just found it depressing. But we had carpet!
