Do You Feel Like I Do?

Lately, when I'm not channeling Peter Frampton, I've been feeling like this grumpy looking fellow (just the curmudgeonly sqwinched up face, not the whole head on a pike thing).

If you'd rather make the shrunken head look out of apples than with your own face, visit Martha Stewart's Halloween Idea of the Day, today.

Wow, that is one weird looking miracle gourd. (I call it a "miracle gourd" since bearing some resemblance to the Savior, it could fetch a pretty penny on ebay, just like the "miracle toast.")

It's a dehydrated apple, silly. (Apparently you didn't follow my Martha link - perhaps you have something better to do, hmmmm?)

Although, we could have some fun carving them and trying to guess what famous dehydrated people they will look most like.

Besides me, I think this one looks like Waldorf from the Muppet Show.

That Martha, she's a hoot I tell you! At least this one is probable. Unlike those damnedably good-look cranberry wreaths that involve about three bags of cranberries, a box of toothpicks and last all of two days. That's what comes of being able to afford to have someone else do your crafts.

Oh, we made cranberry Christmas trees one year - ouch!

We're going to try these this weekend. I think I've done them in the past but they didn't turn out quite this well (shocker!). I may have missed the secret solution - but I don't remember them getting moldy. If they're decent, I'll probably post a picture of one around Halloween.
